About Brittany

Brittany believes the answers to the world's toughest problems often already exist — they are just stuck in silos. For 12+ years, she has designed and led KM work across global organisations, most recently as Chief of the global KM Unit at the UN World Food Programme. In working with organisations like the UN World Food Programme and World Vision International, she has seen firsthand how people-focused KM initiatives can improve outcomes for communities.

To her, KM is about designing systems and processes that ensure critical knowledge gets to the right person at the right time — to make better decisions, reduce duplication, and strengthen organisational learning. In the international development and humanitarian spaces, that can ultimately change lives.

As Owner and Managing Consultant of BrightWing Consulting LLC, Brittany works with teams and organisations to turn fragmented insights into shared wisdom through KM strategies, capacity building, and people-centred learning and knowledge sharing approaches that actually stick.

In addition to her consulting work, she is a Co-founder of the Empower KM Conference, an annual conference that brings KM practitioners and emerging voices together to learn, connect, and shape the future of knowledge work. She also co-hosts Not Another KM Podcast, writes, and speaks on various KM topics.
